2017 Conference

The MIRA Conference will take place at UCLA's new Luskin Conference Center at 425 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90095

Who Is Invited

Anyone who is interested in social science research on critical issues facing the music industry. We look forward to a rich discussion from researchers across disciplines and professionals throughout the industry (labels, publishing, live events, ticketing, copyrights, artists, etc.)  

Where Should I Stay and Park

We recommend the Hotel Angeleno (10 minute drive),

the UCLA Luskin Conference Center and the W Hotel in Westwood (about a 15 minute walk to the Luskin Center).

Parking is available at UCLA Parking Structure 8, immediately adjacent to the Center. 

From Westwood Boulevard, make a left onto Structure 8 Driveway (located just before the parking information kiosk and conference center). Proceed up the ramp to level four and park in any of the Pay-by-Plate parking spots. After parking, purchase a parking permit at any Pay-by-Plate station and place the permit/receipt on your vehicle dashboard. 

To access the conference center via the bridge, take the east stairs down one level and cross over Strathmore Place. Elevator access (northeast corner of level three) permits access the conference center across the pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Strathmore Place and Westwood Plaza.

What is the Agenda

The Conference will begin at 2pm on Thursday, August 10th and be followed by a reception between 6:00pm and 7:00 pm.

On Friday, we will have breakfast onsite at 8:00am and finish the event at 5:00pm. The program is available here and the detailed agenda here.

What is the Cost

The Conference Registration Fee is $125 for attendees, and $75 for students for the first 100 registrants. 

The fee includes meals, attendance, welcome reception, and MIRA membership for 12 months.
